After several seasons at the Margon Arena, I know which photos a club really uses on game day – and which just fill up the hard drive. Here is the list I take into every home game.
Before the game
- Walk-on and warm-up – the first pictures for the story while the arena fills up
- Fans, choreography, kids at the courtside – emotion that sells season tickets
- Sponsor shots – boards, LED advertising, jerseys, the presentation of the partners
During the game
- Action with a face – the dunk is only good if you can tell who’s jumping
- Block, attack, duel – from the corner or the baseline, with the crowd in the background
- Bench and coach – instructions, time-outs, reactions
- Celebration – after the decisive point, as a team, with the fans
After the game
- Lap of honor and high fives with the fans
- Interviews – for the media partners
- The moment after in the locker room or the hallway, if the club wants it
Delivery at halftime
For social media, speed is what counts. I transfer the photos straight from the camera to the tablet, pick 8 to 10 images at halftime and upload them to a cloud folder. The social media team posts before the third quarter starts. Right after the final whistle comes the second selection with celebrations and the final score; the complete gallery follows by the next morning.
What sponsors want
Sponsors want to see themselves – but not as a hidden-logo puzzle. The best sponsor shots show real game action in which the logo appears naturally: the attacker in front of the board, the celebration under the LED wall. I pay attention to this during the game and deliver a sorted selection for sponsor reporting.
Prices for clubs
A single game day is charged by the hour – €160 net per hour including selection, editing and same-day delivery, plus travel costs. Clubs and home-game packages for a whole season get individual prices. All prices net, plus 19% VAT. More on the sports photography page.
